Hello, I'm Zeke and welcome to the Zekely podcast. Let's talk Pennsylvania. The guest I have today was born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, but has roots in Pennsylvania that go back over three generations. He's a husband, father, veteran and political organizer for the Democratic Party. Thank you so much for being here, Jack Inacker
Zeke (:For years, I’ve knocked thousands of doors all over Pennsylvania and poured my heart and soul into supporting candidates and causes that make a difference—from local school board races to national elections. The personal is political, and I take every election in Pennsylvania personally.
Where the mainstream media has failed you, I will give you truth and independence. You’ll hear from Democratic leaders, candidates, and change-makers who are working to improve the health of the Commonwealth, and it won’t be boring as hell.
No matter where you are, I’ll meet you with hope and a plan to make your community better one day at a time. Welcome to the Zekely Podcast. Let’s talk Pennsylvania.
Jack (:Thank you. Thank you for having me on your show.
Zeke Tayler (:What I love about you is that you got into good trouble
and We're gonna learn all about that and all your plans that you have for Philadelphia Play some games and learn all about you. Are you ready? All right.
Jack (:Yeah, I'm ready.
Zeke Tayler (:Well
you swear a lot and I really enjoy that so we're gonna I'm gonna give you some prompts Okay, and I just want I just want you to say the first spicy words that come to your mind. Okay? Elon Elon Musk
Jack (:Sure. Okay, I'm ready. Motherfucker.
Zeke Tayler (:Yes.
Jack (:what's funny is I called my lawyer originally, and I was like, Hey, can I say that he is a ketamine addicted nepo baby? And they're
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:well, I don't know, we need to look at a different way. And I said, okay, what about ketamine snorting? And he's like, you're good to go. Yeah. I think that really, I think that kind of brings it all together. Look, I want, you know, ⁓ Elon Musk to get the help that he very clearly needs.
Zeke Tayler (:Uh-huh.
You're good to go. Wow. Just, just the snorting was fine.
Yeah.
Jack (:I'm not shaming him for his addictive personality, but good Lord. I mean,
You you have somebody who has more money than God himself and spends it in the awful possible ways.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:yeah, think that, you know, ketamine snorting, Nepo baby, I think kind of brings it all together.
Zeke Tayler (:Okay.
That's
just the first one I'm giving you, so you're off to a good start. Okay, here's another one. Congressman Scott Perry.
Jack (:Perfect.
Motherfucker.
Zeke Tayler (:Okay.
Jack (:think that, Scott Perry is MAGA to the core and just a fucking
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:Scott Perry is so firmly rooted up Trump's asshole that you can barely find, you need a sonogram to locate this guy. No, Scott Perry, motherfucker, but also
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:is so blatant in the fact of how much he
hates his own constituency, especially when it comes to these massive cuts to snap, to Medicaid, doing real damage for the people that voted for him. And he doesn't give a fuck, right? Because it just comes down to, did Donald Trump tell you that this is correct? Yes, great, then I'm going to vote for it. that's where he's at. So I think that motherfucker really kind of brings it all together.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm
really hoping Janelle Stelson can come through this time because he's got to go.
have three more for you, okay?
Jack (:Great.
Zeke Tayler (:Stephen Miller.
Jack (:you know, I'd say evil.
and it's funny because I curse a lot. You're right. but he is so craven, right? That I think that the biggest curse that I could give him is craven. just, just, yeah.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, unc- ⁓ Yeah,
Jack (:Just a sick, sick motherfucker.
Zeke Tayler (:unc- Yeah, unclean.
Jack (:you know, say what you will about Stephen Miller. The guy's a true believer.
⁓ He's incredibly effective at getting his xenophobic bullshit out into the world. It is astounding how good this guy is. But if you think about it for half a second, it actually kind of makes sense because, you know, he's, he is the, the modern Maga Trump realized, right? He is the full incarnation of what the Trump agenda is.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah. ⁓
Yeah, yeah.
right, two more. Congressman Rob Brezhnehan.
Jack (:rich motherfucker.
Zeke Tayler (:You
Jack (:I, so what's funny about Rob,
he is so out of his fucking depth, man. Like I almost feel bad for him. but I don't,
Zeke Tayler (:you
Jack (:I'm sure you know about like his stock trades, the fact that he's traded stocks over 600 times when he came into office and said,
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Jack (:I'm not going to trade stocks I'm not going to trade stocks. And then proceeded to do so for 600 fucking
Zeke Tayler (:Right. Yeah.
Jack (:rich motherfucker, think kind of
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, rich motherfucker. Okay, last but not least, can't leave him out, Donald Trump.
Jack (:sums it up real good.
King of the motherfuckers, but you know, he's been that way his entire life. He's not putting on a show, right? Like in...
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
No, no, he's the real,
he's the real king motherfucker. Yeah.
he's selling hate. He's selling hate. And then people eat it up. He hates the same things that his followers hate, immigrants and minorities
And it's cool until you're the one getting pulled over.
on the side of the road and not able to get home. And it's cool until your loved one's getting taken off to some foreign country. And it's cool until your grandmother can't get her Medicaid anymore. You know, it's cool until something starts happening to you.
Jack (:Right.
We're going to get out all the illegal immigrants, all the criminals, all the rapists, all the X, Y, and Z, even though none of it is fucking true. Right? He is lying in people's face consistently and has done so for many
Zeke Tayler (:Right, Yeah.
King of the motherfuckers.
Jack (:Ysking of the motherfuckers, yes.
Zeke Tayler (:you are a third generation armed services member. First of all, thank you for your service. ⁓ And absolutely and have served honorably in the Air Force as a nuclear weapons control supervisor. So what inspired you to join and how did you end up in the nuclear department?
Jack (:Thank you for thanking me.
I did.
I thought that the air force at the time could instill in me a very specific set of guidelines, right? And, and helped me reach my goals you know, I wanted to complete college. I wanted to do a couple of those
It was, it was the right thing for me at the time.
did I end up in, in nuclear weapons?
I, you I had a pristine background. I scored very high on the ASPAB, which is a test that you take. That's like, Hey, you're fill out these circles. You know, do you understand some mechanics? Do you understand some, can you, can you hack it? And I did very
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, yeah.
Jack (:what I didn't realize at the time was that meant that I needed to go to fucking Minot, North Dakota.
Zeke Tayler (:Okay.
Jack (:I would highly advise you and your audience not to go to Minot, North Dakota. That is a fucking desolate place. That is a desolate
Zeke Tayler (:Okay.
Jack (:place if you are
Zeke Tayler (:Well,
Jack (:d. That is not a fun place in:Zeke Tayler (:I would...
Yeah, I
mean, I'm sure it's good to be desolate when you're dealing with nuclear weapons. You know, want it to be kind of a desolate place, right?
Jack (:in, I went in in February of:right? In
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah,
Jack (:And then 9-11 happened.
we
fully loaded B-52s loaded onto nuclear weapons.
onto the flight line in North Dakota
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:during 9-11. We didn't know where the next planes were coming from.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, that's crazy.
Jack (:So it was a very insane moment in not only our nation's history, in my own personal
so I'm, I'm happy that it
I'm also proud of the service that I was able to do for people that are in since leaving.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Well, it makes sense that you gravitated towards the Democratic Party to get those things done for people in service.
Jack (:Yeah, which is funny because if you ask people that are in, they wouldn't tell you that, right? People that are in, in the military are more likely to tell you, the Republicans are the party that are looking after the
And it's very clear over my career in organizing and advocacy that the Republicans are fucking lost on this, right?
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, of course.
Jack (:shit like the PACT Act
⁓ which delivered, you know, healthcare to those who have been exposed to toxins like burn pits and Agent Orange. That's all Democrats, baby. Like that is that the Democratic party is the people that put that over the line. it is Bob Casey, of Pennsylvania was one of the first people that was bringing attention to, toxins in military members. ⁓ so, and it was every time.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Jack (:that, you know, they talk about cuts to funding these programs. It's not Democrats that are cutting it. It's one fucking party. It's a Republican party.
You know, there's a common adage that you have to tell somebody 26 times one thing to get them to understand it.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:And maybe we've messaged on this five times, six times, right? We're not doing enough to fully explain to people that, that yeah, the democratic party is the one that is actually looking out for military members.
Zeke Tayler (:Right. Yeah.
Well,
we're trying, you and I, we're trying to do it right now. Democratic Party is the party for the military. You heard it here. You heard it here, hopefully not once, twice, but at least 36 more times.
you went to college at Temple University and you earned a master's in public policy and graduated as valedictorian, which is amazing, which is amazing by the way. What are your future aspirations with this degree? There it is. That's a beautiful plaque. That's a beautiful plaque. I love
Jack (:I did.
they they didn't plaque they give us very specific plaque
i what what is the future aspiration i mean i'm living the dream buddy i i i'm doing exactly what i wanted to do
I ran veterans and military families for Harris Walz in PA. I ran veterans for Casey before that. I ran veterans for Fetterman And so one of the things that frustrated me was the fact that we weren't able to do some very simple things that I wanted to do that I was excited about,
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:Like
when it came to say something like Veterans for Casey or Veterans for Harris Walz I wanted to
go out and make sure that we were direct messaging to veterans in
So that is where FUBARPAC was born.
And I thank Temple for kind of giving me the very broad-based education in political organizing and communication in everything, in campaign finance and in economics, in business. And I tried to, during my graduate
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:try to learn as much as I could about as many different things at a graduate level. Because I think that so many of those things touch the individual voter. You've got to know about civil rights, but you've got to also know about kitchen table issues.
So like for me, temple, was, you know, invaluable to that because I could, got to like read a lot and write a lot about, topics that before that I had a more, you know, generalized knowledge of, ⁓
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm. It's set the table.
It's essentially set the table for your ability to go out into the world and really make an impact. Temple University gave you that ability.
Jack (:Yeah.
you know, the nice thing about Temple, it's not only a good school, you know, it's great
And I'm excited to one day hopefully go back, I just want to go back and adjunct , a class. I want to go back and teach you know, shitposting 101. ⁓
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah!
Professor, Professor
Inacker Professor Inacker. Adjunct Professor Inacker.
Jack (:Yeah. Well, adjunct Professor Inacker I don't want to go back.
You know, I am not going back and getting a
Zeke Tayler (:Understood.
Well, it sounds like you understand that education is important.
Okay. So we're going to play a game called what are the odds? All right. Does getting an education help or hurt you in America? All right. So first question, do college graduates have a higher or lower earning potential? Correct. College graduates generally earn
Jack (:Sure.
higher.
Zeke Tayler (:over their lifetimes a lot more than only if you get a high school diploma.
Are college graduates more or less likely to be unemployed?
Jack (:college graduates more or less likely to be unemployed. I'm going to go with less likely.
Zeke Tayler (:be unemployed. That
is correct. College graduates are less likely to be unemployed and more likely to have full-time jobs. right. I know, yeah, look, you know. Look, this is the messaging we're going to tell people 26 times, okay? When the Republican party is saying, you don't need to go to college.
Jack (:It's like we're playing Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. It's like, are you gonna leave a message on my answering machine after this?
Great.
Zeke Tayler (:You know, you're going to be indoctrinated by the woke ideologies, but like, actually, look at all these reasons why it's so important to go to college.
Jack (:Sure.
Zeke Tayler (:Okay, here's a couple more examples.
Jack (:That's a great point.
Zeke Tayler (:Are college graduates more or less likely to engage with their communities? Correct. College graduates are more likely to participate in their communities, engage in volunteer work, and contribute to civic life. And you are a great example of that. we're going to talk.
Jack (:more.
Zeke Tayler (:Why are you a Democrat? And why do you choose to represent the Democratic Party?
Jack (:Great question.
Look, I think Democrats have it the most right. I think that Republicans have it the most
I think Republicans, you know, can't escape this idea of actually pushing back against Donald Trump. I think that MAGA is just the fucking worst and the worst of America out there on the grand stage. And Democrats have it the most
We have to have this idea that, yeah, we can actually still accomplish great things, which the Republicans will tell you and then not deliver on, right?
Zeke Tayler (:Correct. Yeah.
Jack (:There are things to learn from all these people, but I think we get it the most right the most of the time.
Zeke Tayler (:I 100 % agree with you.
You are the executive director of FUBARPAC, which I can only imagine stands for fucked up beyond all recognition, which you started back in March of this year. What inspired you to start this PAC and what are its goals?
Jack (:That's right.
what inspired me was the:reach both voters and party elites.
And my
thought process going into FUBARPAC was, hey, I want to talk about things through sometimes a very goofy lens, talk, like speak freely and speak my mind about how I see the country moving and not be afraid to call a Republican a motherfucker when he's acting like one,
So that's why I started
the other portion is, look, my dad died in January. It's
Zeke Tayler (:I'm sorry.
Jack (:died of colon cancer.
But
⁓ one of the things that I saw, was the fact that, ⁓ cancer research had been gutted by Doge. and we saw at the time, all of these programs that were just being absolutely hack and slash through. ⁓ and I felt angry. I felt, like I wanted to see people fight back against this in a meaningful way. in a way that.
couldn't be ignored. And it wasn't just, you know, writing a letter. I wanted to see something tangible and visceral and maybe ugly. But through that, actually talk about something that needed to change and happen. like, I don't want to wax philosophical about my own bullshit, but like, I think that that FUBAR PAC
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:for me has been both an effort to message about things in Pennsylvania and the country that are important to me, but in a way that I kind of wanted to see them and in a way that hadn't been messaged that I personally wasn't seeing out there. And that could possibly capture the attention of folks who otherwise wouldn't have seen it. ⁓
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, that
makes sense. That's kind of the reason why I started The Zekely Podcast You know, I worked my ass off last year to try and get more Democrats elected and it was devastating and I felt like I had to do something different. So I completely understand your emotions and your motivation to start FUBAR.
Jack (:Yeah.
Yeah.
you know, a lot of
people our age are, you know, seeing a world that they don't recognize, right? This is not the future that we fucking promised, right? This is not the future that we even considered.
Zeke Tayler (:Right.
Jack (:But I hope that
maybe if I'm going and playing the clown, right? While destroying a Tesla or painting the JD Vance, know, meme onto the side of the building.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm. ⁓
Mm-hmm.
Jack (:that
maybe some Democrat actually has the courage to go out there and not be afraid to be embarrassed to advocate for Medicare for
can't just think that you're going out there and speaking from a bunch of fucking talking points that were written by consultants living in fucking Bethesda, Maryland. Right? They have to believe that you actually are going to go out and fight for.
Zeke Tayler (:Right. Well, I'm glad that you're doing, you know, your angle on supporting Democrats through your PAC and we're collaborating now. So we're in it together.
Jack (:We're in it together, man. I'm
Zeke Tayler (:Here we go.
I'm excited for you man, this is good stuff.
earlier this year you organized the demolition of a Tesla with a golden sledgehammer and various electrical tools, so that must have been extremely therapeutic for you and everyone involved.
Jack (:I did,
I'm trying to find my golden, where's my golden wrench? I had my golden wrench down here.
Zeke Tayler (:You had
a couple gold plated items?
Jack (:I've got a bunch. We had a golden chainsaw. had a golden wrench. had a golden sledgehammer. We had a golden pickaxe. That was the most fun. The pickaxe genuinely was the most enjoyable out of all of them. The sledgehammer was good, but the pickaxe really like jams in there in a really satisfying way.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:it was cathartic.
You know, Doge did so much long lasting damage to this country. I, it's funny because I, I had a great time destroying that Tesla. And I know the people that were there did, and we had some press come out and talk about it and talked about the issues. And we were able to bring attention to this, but the really profound sad fact is
you know, the ending of USAID is going to have a profound effect on global deaths because of HIV AIDS, right? Millions of people are going to die because of this.
Zeke Tayler (:Yes.
Jack (:Hundreds of thousands of children are going to die because we basically eviscerated all of our soft power overseas and took away
you know, antivirals that were literally in the fucking country, right? And costing us pennies on the dollar to produce and get there. And we just ripped it out of these people's hands and millions of people are gonna die,
yeah, it's tremendously sad. It is awful. And so, yeah, my very small, like very silly thing that we did with bashing up Tesla is, you know,
went through a lot of process to make sure that, hey, is this thing going to blow up? Like, can we make sure that we're recycling, that we're upcycling all the stuff, that we're doing all the things that we need to do, you know, X, Y, and Z, that we're crossing all the Ts and dotting all the Is, but at the end of the day, like, the thing that we're protesting is so fucking horrid that there's barely a way to express to people
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Jack (:how bad it really is. And we're learning right now how bad it is and we'll be learning for an entire generation how bad it is. Like, yeah, maybe I absolved my little bit of guilt about it, you know, by participating in this very small, like pin-dot protest, but the outcome is horrific. Horrific.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Jack (:in
a way that I don't know that anyone is really grasped with. It is the worst thing that we have done as a country in a generation.
Zeke Tayler (:terrible and I appreciate you bringing light to that through the activity that you did but hopefully that messaging spreads and that's the most important thing people need to know
You founded the Philadelphia Democratic Veterans Caucus. What type of work does your caucus participate in?
Jack (:the Veterans Caucus is the same work that we're doing with veterans and military families for Harris
we came up with, and this is the model that I came up with, was look, we're never gonna have enough veterans to go knock on doors to make a meaningful impact. But what we can do is tell the stories about
people are being affected by certain policies through a veteran lens, right? So we can talk about veterans suicide, or we can talk about mental health issues nationwide through the lens of veteran suicide, you know? And every issue is a veteran's issue, but usually worse, right? ⁓ So my work really was going out and meeting veterans
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah.
Jack (:that cared about the same issues that we did that wanted to see a fundamental change in how we did business vis-a-vis the PACT ACT vis-a-vis Veterans Benefits, making sure that the VA was fully funded, making sure that people had their
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Jack (:that people that were LGBT were treated fairly, which now they fucking aren't at all. ⁓ We're being able to have an outlet where if we have a topic that we can talk about,
Zeke Tayler (:great.
Jack (:that we can put out op-ends, that we can put out direct-to-camera interviews, that we can make sure that we're linking up those people with the people who want to tell their stories in a very easy and streamlined way. And that was the mission of, and still is the mission of the Philadelphia Veterans Caucus.
I that's what I see my role as is going and just creating those networks, you know, and create a welcoming space for people to come in and, and say, Hey, I'm a democratic veteran. And here's what I care about. And here's what I give a shit about. But I think that like, in a perfect world, I wouldn't
have anything to do with the caucus because people would be unafraid to go out and talk about how the current administration is completely fucking up with veterans. ⁓ But a lot of people are scared. A lot of people are terrified that if they go out and talk about what's going on in their communities,
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:going to have retribution.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:⁓
from this administration, had seen it happen already. ⁓ we've seen this administration weaponize, ⁓ these, you know, like ice Gestapo motherfuckers out there.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Jack (:know, they're arresting, ⁓ random people off the street, ⁓ with no rhyme or reason.
And I think that there's a lot of frustration and will be even more so once, you know, VA staff starts getting cut and we see some of the longer term effects
of the big shitty
As that trail gets longer, you're going to see people being like, hey, what happened to X, Y, and Z? well, it's gone because it was shredded by Donald Trump.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah, well, I appreciate you giving a platform for those people so they can speak
you live in Fishtown currently with your family. It's a very cool area.
Jack (:I do.
Zeke Tayler (:your favorite part of living in Fishtown?
Jack (:So we've got great restaurants, we got great bars, we've got great parks. ⁓ That's another great thing. It's a great place to have kids.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:And they really like their school. So it's a great community. I love living in a walkable area. Fishtown is great. Great.
Zeke Tayler (:That's great.
Mm-hmm.
A long time ago when I was in college, went to Fishtown. I don't think it's open anymore. Pizzeria Badia was this like, is it still open? Oh my God. mean, like the thing was you came and you ordered, they only did 200 pizzas a night. And you you got in line and they said, back in an hour. went to Barcade. And then we came back and we ate like a $40 pizza. And it was an experience.
Jack (:Yeah, it's open. Yeah, they moved. They moved.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, so it is objectively one of the best things I've ever eaten. Right. It is very good. It is also extremely expensive. And I'm look, Hey, you do your thing. You're going to do a hoagie omakase. That's great. Awesome.
Zeke Tayler (:It's very good. It's very good. Yeah.
huh, yeah.
Jack (:like you're trying something
pound for pound though, the best pizza in fish town is a place called OG pizza. ⁓ it is incredibly good. it tastes like pizza. It tastes like what your brain registers in the back of your head is like, that's what pizza is. It's pizza. It's foldable, like a nice foldable, like got a good crust like crust. Like it's not like.
Zeke Tayler (:Okay. OG pizza.
Yeah, yeah,
huh.
Jack (:You know how modern pizza like kind of just throws like slabs of mozzarella on the top of it? Like, yeah, sometimes, but like that's what fancy pizza is. This isn't fancy pizza. is fucking pizza. It is pizza. OG pizza.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, sometimes, yeah.
Okay, OG pizza.
Alright, I'll check it out when I get to Fishtown one of these days.
Back in the late:Jack (:Usual yes
It's great. Bueschel is beautiful. I got to live three years in the German countryside. So, spreche ein bisschen Deutsch, ich verstehe großes Deutsche. So I speak a little bit of German. I understand a
Zeke Tayler (:great.
Jack (:was weird about the interaction was every single person in Germany that I met spoke perfect
If they didn't speak English, they were lying to you. They just didn't want to talk to you.
Yeah.
Zeke Tayler (:Well, this
is going to dovetail nicely into our next game called Say What in German. Okay, I'm going to give you some German words. I'm going to see if you can tell me what it means in English, ⁓ Flugs... And I'm sure my pronunciation is not going to be very good, but we're going to run with that, okay? Flugsug.
Jack (:Okay.
good lord. I'm very rusty.
Okay.
looks good. Is that no it's not ambulance is that airplane. there we go okay ding ding ding.
Zeke Tayler (:Flugzeug!
It's airplane. Very good. You got it. How
about crack crank and wagon crack? That's the ambulance. Yep, ambulance. Yep. Okay. I want to try and pronounce this cool shrank. Cool, cool shrank.
Jack (:That's your ambulance. Cranking wagon, 100 % ambulance. Yep.
What?
Cool Shrink?
Zeke Tayler (:Cool Shrink. I think I'm pronouncing it like K with the U with the two dots over it. H-L-S-C-H-R-A-N-K. Cool Shrink. Yeah.
Jack (:Cool shrank.
I don't know. What is it?
Zeke Tayler (:Refrigerator.
Jack (:Coolschrank! ⁓ yeah, okay. That's... What a dumb fucking word. I love
Zeke Tayler (:refrigerator.
Hahaha ⁓
Jack (:German language because there will be like a 20 syllable long word that means a very specific thing.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Jack (:Words that would not otherwise exist outside of things. But I will teach you a little bit of German.
you'd like, which is which is the Gates dia, the Gates dia.
Zeke Tayler (:Wie geht's dir?
Jack (:And that is the very specific way that Joey on Friends says, How you doing?
Zeke Tayler (:Aha.
How are you?
Jack (:So if you
ever want to be like, you ever want to chat somebody up in German, be like, begates dir. Begates dir.
Zeke Tayler (:⁓ yeah, Vigetsia, how you doing? that's
i have two more for you
Stalbsalga Stalbsalga
Jack (:street sign?
Zeke Tayler (:vacuum cleaner? vacuum cleaner? okay I don't know here's the last one
Jack (:vacuum cleaner. No, okay.
You're gonna have to cut
that one out.
Netherlands.
Zeke Tayler (:smething.
Jack (:I don't know, what is it?
Zeke Tayler (:Butterfly.
you go. it's a beautiful thing. know the German, you got three out of five, you did a great job. Did a great job.
Jack (:Beautiful. Beautiful. Hey, I got three out of five. I got three out of five. That's passing.
Zeke Tayler (:As a housing and community resource development manager, you work to promote a housing first model to assist those struggling with substance abuse disorders. So I really like that initiative. How did that all come together?
Jack (:If you cut your hand, what are you gonna do? What's the first thing you're gonna do?
Zeke Tayler (:⁓
I'll wrap it up and if it's large enough to need stitches I'll probably go to the emergency room and get stitches. ⁓
Jack (:Right. So
when you wrap up your hand, you're going to go to your sink, right? And you're going to run clean water over the wound, right? You probably have a medicine cabinet that has some level of antiseptic or something like that in there, you know? ⁓ You have clean
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Jack (:pain medication to help you with that.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:⁓
If it's that bad and you have some level of emergency services that you can call on if it's really really bad, right? If you're on housed And you cut your hand You usually don't have instant access to clean water to clean it with you don't have ⁓ Clean bandages to bandage it up with you don't have X Y & Z and probably that that wound that was a
10 cent bandage fix, right, turns into a $50,000 infection, right? So what we did was we looked at, let's put people in housing to make sure that we could deliver services to them and make sure that they had a base of operations to grow from.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah. Yeah.
Jack (:And we found that it is not only the moral thing to do, right? It is not only the correct thing to do, but also it is the cheaper thing to do. The way that we currently deliver healthcare outside of that model is extremely
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Right. Yeah.
Jack (:costs so much more money in the long run.
Zeke Tayler (:Mm-hmm.
Jack (:Instead
of the 10 cent bandage, right? It's the $30,000 bill instead of the $30 bottle of insulin, right? It's an amputation of a leg, right? We have found and the number one thing that we can do is make sure that people have a steady base of operation so that people can get that care that we need and everything else expands out of that and we found it's a
Zeke Tayler (:Right, yeah.
Jack (:very effective and cheaper and moral. ⁓
Zeke Tayler (:I love it. mean, as a doctor,
I couldn't agree with you more.
Housing is a form of preventative medicine. Having someone be able to shower every day, be able to keep food safe in a refrigerator and heat it back up again. Those are all things that are preventative care when it comes to someone's health. So I think it's a great initiative. I 100 % agree with you.
Jack (:Yeah. And, you know, making sure that we're like, you know, studying those things through a healthcare lens, ⁓ instead of, you know, banning studying them, which we have for like gun violence that we're not allowed to even study gun violence as a, as a healthcare risk. ⁓ You have people that, and I think that this is going back to our talk about like, do people have it?
Zeke Tayler (:Thank
Yeah.
Right. Right.
Right. Correct.
Jack (:which party has it the most right. know, the Republicans look through it as a lens of like the undeserving poor, right? If they only worked harder, right? If they only did X, Y, and Z, then their conditions would change, right?
Zeke Tayler (:Right. Yeah. Right. Yeah.
Yeah.
Jack (:we give them the tools to change their condition, then they won't have learned anything.
They won't have better themselves, right? When in fact, what we actually know is that if you give people the resources to better themselves, they better themselves, right?
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, right. Yeah. I mean, they have
done studies. I mean, there have been not a lot of studies, but they have done studies on homelessness. And I think even in California, they did a small study where they gave $1,000, I think, out to a number of people. And most of those people got themselves off the streets. And they were able to get themselves housing and get themselves jobs because being poor is expensive. You know, it's expensive. ⁓ So we
Jack (:Well...
Yeah. Yeah.
Zeke Tayler (:I mean, it's out there. It's just that like you both agree, the Democratic Party is more likely to invest in those types of programs to help people as opposed to, they're gonna be the ones to
Jack (:They absolutely are. And the child
tax credit was one of the greatest victories for like solving child poverty, right? And what did we find when we gave people money through the child tax credit? We found that they spend it on like repairing their car so they can get around and get to appointments. They spent it on making sure that kids had like books and clothes for school, that they spend it on like, you know,
Zeke Tayler (:Right. Right.
Jack (:food and everyday, you know, issues. We found that that shit worked and it lifted millions of kids out of poverty. And now it's gone.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah, it does work. Right. Yeah.
Yeah. Well, I'm at least glad that you did your part to try and give people homes. And it's very honorable. And I'm grateful as a physician that you gave them an opportunity to better take care of themselves.
What gives you hope?
Jack (:what gives me hope is that
I think that people are understanding that the status quo is not acceptable and that we've got to make multiple changes on multiple different levels. And through that process, which is sometimes ugly, right? You're seeing a better result come out the other side.
Right.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah,
right.
what plans do you have to get yourself through these next few years?
Jack (:I start fights on reddit. That's that's usually like a good I Love yelling at people on reddit. ⁓ reddit is the best for for getting into internet arguments ⁓ What no no no, I don't want to talk to your aunt Janice. I'm not interested I want to I want to talk to like, you know shit lord
Zeke Tayler (:Okay.
Not Facebook? You don't get to Facebook, not Facebook? No.
Okay.
Jack (:is
you know, really?
Really in the thick of it.
Zeke Tayler (:I'm sure.
Jack (:Like what, what, what keeps me sane for the next couple of years will just be doing weird and interesting shit. ⁓ and
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Jack (:trying stuff out, right? Like, so one of the things that we did last year on the Harris campaign that was really cool was I threw this tailgate right before the election down at the Eagles
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Jack (:with the object of like, there's 80,000 people in the crowd here. Can we?
connect where we you're never going to find a place in a battleground state that is 80,000 people all gathered in the same place. Right. We could go and talk to these people. How cool would that be? So we did. And we had a great time and we had Robert De Niro come by and we had John Kerry and we had our Congress people. Shout out to Mad Dean and Mary Gay Scanlon for coming through. Great. They both had ⁓
know, pound some beers with me. was a wonderful time. But look, we can try different things and let's not be afraid of trying some different stuff. And if it fails, that's okay.
Zeke Tayler (:Right.
Jack (:So we've got to have people that are.
excited to try new things, we got to have candidates that actually want to try them. So, ⁓ and that comes down to Dems in really safe seats, doing cool stuff, right? and being the, the, the safest Dems should be leading the charge because they are in the safest areas
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
Yeah.
Jack (:I, don't want to see those people, you know,
being afraid to lose their job. Go try some new shit. Go break a Tesla. I don't know. I'm not your dad.
Zeke Tayler (:Well, hopefully, yeah,
with you, hopefully that's what you're gonna, they're gonna be doing it with you and a FUBAR PAC Well, Jack Inacker, Philadelphian, when not screaming into the void is helping Democrats get elected and giving shit to shitty Republicans. I mean, what else can we say?
Jack (:Yeah.
I applaud you in the work that you're doing. Like, keep it weird, man.
Zeke Tayler (:I just gotta keep the positive messaging out there because there are a lot of people, you included, that wake up every day as a committee person, as someone who loves their family, their country, and they wanna see it move in a more positive direction. And when we have enough people like you do that, then we're gonna see positive change. So I'm very grateful for what you're doing.
Jack (:Well, I'll make
you a deal. You keep up the positive messaging and I will keep up the negative messaging and we'll balance either other out. I will...
Zeke Tayler (:Negative message,
I'll take it as long as the negative messaging is aimed right at the Republican Party,
Jack (:Hey,
yeah, absolutely. I like a 95 % of the time, 95 towards the Republicans and then 5 % some Dems are catching strays when they're fucking up. But I think that's, I think that's, that's, that's a good, good ratio. Maybe 80-20. I don't know.
Zeke Tayler (:Yeah.
That's fine. That's fine.
a good balance.
I'm gonna stay in my mind's eye it's gonna be 95 % okay.
I love it. Thanks again Jack.
Jack (:% that's a good number. It's a solid number. All right, brother
Zeke Tayler (:Hold on one second alright.
Jack (:Hey, thanks for having me on the show
Zeke Tayler (:Thanks for joining me here on The Zekely Podcast. Stay hopeful and get involved and until next time, let's keep building a stronger Pennsylvania together.
